During her visit to Saint John's for the Abdella Center for Ethics Lecture on January 23, 2013, former United States Ambassador to the United Nations and Secretary of State Dr. Madeleine K. Albright stopped in to the 40th Anniversary party of SJMUN.

Dr. Albright surprised students, alumni, and teachers who were gathering to celebrate 40 years of Model UN at Saint John's. She briefly addressed the intimate crowd in Remillard Hall and was able to spend a half hour hosting an impromptu question and answer session.

Dr. Albright's unexpected visit to the Model United Nations Reunion allowed students and alumni alike who had each been shaped by their time in the club  to connect with the former UN ambassador in a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
