Religious Studies Philosophy
The Religious Studies department at Saint John’s High School brings “Christ to life” (from the Saint John’s Mission Statement) in young men through learning about God’s ongoing relationship with humanity and by giving students the skills to grow their relationship with the Divine. Rooted in our Catholic and Xaverian traditions, our curriculum fosters the academic and spiritual growth of students of all faiths, using the study of the Catholic faith and the model of Christ as a touchstone for each student’s unique exploration of his faith journey. Through a curriculum shaped by academic rigor, reflection, prayer, and community, we seek to impart the spiritual and moral values that naturally flow from a meaningful relationship with God, self, and others.
