Catholic Conference XC Classic - Race Summary

Pioneers Finish 3rd in the Catholic Conference League Meet.
 
On a foggy, drizzly day at Boston’s iconic Franklin Park, the SJ harriers finished 3rd out of 6 teams, scoring 82 points in the 30th running of the Catholic Conference League Meet.
 
St. John’s top finishers were junior Tommy Robinson placing 9th overall in a time of 17:10 followed by senior co-captain Dan Rivard in 15th place in 17:35 over the 5k course..
 
Running a strong race and closing hard while finishing 18th overall was junior Severin Smith in 18:12.    
 
Rounding out the scoring  for the thinclads in yet another hard fought effort was senior Austin Tenczar (21st) in 18:23 followed closely by senior Andres Infante (22nd) in 18:29. 
 
In the JV contest, the Pioneers scored 97 points for a 4th place finish. Leading the way for Pioneers was sophomore Jason Malo in 16th place in a time of 20:20 followed closely by junior Teddy Conboy (17th) in 20:23 and sophomore Kerry Zhang (18th) in 20:23. Rounding out the scoring were sophomore Aayaan Razzaque (21st) in 20:38 and senior Michael Rotondo (37th) in 21:43.
 
In the Freshman race, Arnav Chatterjee raced to an impressive 3rd place showing with a time of 11:03 over the 3k course with classmate Jacob Flynn finishing close behind in 4th in 11:19.
Joe Bernat finished 43rd in a time of 14:11 while Tyler Schiavone finished 47th in 14:23.   
 
The St. John’s Middle School harriers placed 3rd overall in the middle school race, tallying 77 points with Teddy Conway finishing 13th overall in a time of 13:04 over the 3k distance.
 
The Pioneers next race is on Saturday, November 5 at the Frank Mooney State Coaches Meet at the Wrentham Development School @ 9:00 AM.
