Saint John's Curriculum

MS Religious Studies

The goal of this course in Grade 7 is to introduce students to the fundamentals of the Catholic Faith in the Xaverian tradition. Encouraging a deepening relationship with God, students are taught to engage in discussion, prayer, reflection, and to develop compassion for those on the periphery of society.

In Grade 8, students will continue their personal growth as young men uniquely created by God living in an interconnected community of people. As students progress through the course, they will develop their critical thinking, reading, and writing abilities while deepening their understanding of Jesus and his Church through study, discussions, prayer, and contemplation both individually and collaboratively. This course addresses various themes including morality, relationships, history, government, faith and reason, and students’ place in the world.
