214 Pioneers graduated at 110th Commencement.
On Sunday May 15, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., the Saint John’s High School Commencement for the Class of 2016 took place in the Plourde Center at Assumption. Rev. José Rodriguez celebrated the baccalaureate liturgy that preceded the ceremony.
In his final address to graduates as headmaster, Michael Welch presented the Award for Academic Excellence to William “Sal” Hughes, who delivered the Valedictory Address to his classmates.
Matthew Franzoso was honored with the 2016 Xaverian Award. This award is given to a senior, nominated by the faculty, who best exemplifies the Xaverian spirit of humility, compassion, faith, and leading by service. The Headmaster describes the Xaverian award winners as students who have “shown through action and character that Saint John’s is a better place because of their presence.”
The 214 members of the Saint John’s class of 2016 will be matriculating to over 110 different colleges, universities, prep schools, and military academies in the fall.
