7th Grade Victorious in Season Opener

The 7th grade soccer team is off to a strong start this season. They showed off their strengths in the season opener against Xaverian with 7-2 win over the Hawks. Adarsh Radesh started the attack with a beautiful chip shot off of a pass from Antony Muska. Karsten Hofmann continued the offensive pressure with goal also assisted by Muska. The Pioneers rounded out the first half with three more goals; one from Alex Levchuk and two from co-captain Evan Nazarey. Ben Billiot had a strong showing at goalkeeper helping the team go into the second half with a 5-0.
The Saint John's squad had a solid second half with Ethan Mangena and co-captain Gus Moreira each scoring a goal. Vinny Dang had a number of great saves throughout the half, but gave up two goals both on Xaverian penalty kicks.  The game was a tremendous team effort and the Pioneers are eager to take the field again on Tuesday as they face Catholic Memorial.
